VHP >> projects >> AIDS ribbons
With the sale of red beaded AIDS ribbons, the members of Village Health Project are generating financial support for both VHP as well as Reach Out, a support organization for people who are HIV positive. The beaded AIDS ribbons are made in Uganda by Roses of Mbuya, which is a tailoring workshop created by Reach Out as a vocational rehabilitation option for HIV/AIDS patients.
Students returning from biannual study abroad programs in Uganda transport the pins to the United States. The proceeds from the sale of the pins are split between Reach Out and Village Health Project. All money donated returns to Uganda, either directly to Reach Out or through the student-run community improvement efforts of VHP.
If you would like to purchase a pin, please email us at vhproject@gmail.com, and we will be happy to mail you one. The cost of each pin is $5.00 plus the cost of shipping (unless you live in the Madison area).
The VHP website is currently undergoing an update and redesign. We appreciate your patience during this process. We hope you will check back with us soon!
